The Lovers’ Discourse, 2022|23-

Titled after Roland Barthes’ seminal text, The Lovers' Discourse is a series of vibrant oil paintings portraying female couples in intimate embrace. Saturated in luminous blues, greens, and yellows, the works explore the language of desire—tender, chaotic, and profoundly embodied.

The figures are entwined in moments of closeness that defy narrative—glimpses of connection where words fall away and only gesture remains. Some surfaces are adorned with fur, evoking the sensuality of skin, the animality of touch, and the primal force of attraction.

This series is an ode to queer love in its quiet complexity—an exploration of emotional intensity, eroticism, animality and the multiplicity of intimacy. The Lovers' Discourse speaks in colour and texture, offering a visual lexicon of bodies that desire and belong.
