Acid Rain, 2024|25
Acid Rain is a series of watercolour paintings depicting two women lovers caught in intimate, often ambivalent embrace. Rendered in luminous yellows and bleeding ultramarine, the works use a wet-on-wet technique to evoke both tenderness and dissolution—moments that hover between love and undoing.
The figures merge and blur, at times possessive, at times aggressive—revealing the hidden cost of attachment, the quiet violence that can underlie closeness. Like rain that nourishes and erodes, desire here is dual: soft and scalding, healing and corrosive.
Acid Rain invites the viewer into that liminal space where intimacy becomes entangled with vulnerability, and where the beauty of connection carries its own shadow.
